Hey Gang, the Presidency results are in, and the winner by a landslide, is "Cale Colony". Cale will begin his term this upcoming fall. In the meantime, we will be updating documents, picking dates, and doing some planning for the upcoming year. So, have fun with your summer!

Summer Picnic

Yes, it's summer picnic time again. And we'd like to see as many people from UPE and ACM there to help us snarf down all the food and beverages as if it were the last food stuffs on Earth! Eat up like it's the Zombie Apocalypse. All the fun details are on the Picnic page. We hope to see you there!

Have you considered joining UPE?

Upsilon Pi Epsilon (ΥΠΕ), is the first and only international honor society for the computing sciences. Upsilon Pi Epsilon (UPE) is recognized by both ACM and IEEE-CS as an official honor society, and is a proud member of the Association of College Honor Societies (ACHS). Upsilon Pi Epsilon is here to promote the computing and information disciplines and to encourage their contribution to the enhancement of knowledge.

Membership in UPE is a distinct honor which is recognized throughout the computing community, opens doors to government jobs that may not have been accessible to you before, grants you access to scholarships that are only available to UPE members, gives you a competitive advantage over job candidates that are not honor society members, grants you access to companies that come to the University of Michigan-Dearborn to specifically hire UPE members, offers you the opportunity to participate in our community services and activities. Participation in our community services and activities is not required, but it looks fantastic on your resume, and helps secure your place as a contender for the highly prized "Chancellor's Medallion" for outstanding academic achievement (which factors in community involvement).

Our events include: Gaming Day, Computer Advantage & Technology Saturday (Girl Scouts), Computer Science Saturday (Boy Scouts), Student Tutoring, Game Night, & the Annual ACM/UPE Picnic.

Can you honestly say that you're better off, not being an honor society member? Are you willing to pass up these benefits & employment opportunities? See what you've been missing. Join UPE Today!

Upcoming Events & Meetings:

  • Monthly Meetings: Are typically every second Wednesday of the month during the Fall and Winter semesters..
  • Game Night: Is usually held every Wednesday from 6pm to 9:30pm (CIS Building, G.A.M.E. Lab) during the Fall 2008 & Winter 2009 semesters, unless otherwise noted.
