UPE Constitution
- Adopted October 8th, 2008 (UPE National March 2007 version): Download
UPE Initiation Procedure
- Inquire with any of the UPE officers or advisors, about your interest to join UPE.
- Make sure that you meet the "UPE Membership Requirements" for the type of student that you are (provided on this page), and bring a copy of your student transcripts to the next UPE Informational Meeting (to give to Professor. Maxim)
- Transfer Students: Try to bring your unofficial transcript from your previous college(s) as well, just in case they are needed to help verify your eligibility.
- Once we get the thumbs up on your transcript. We'll run your name past the university faculty to make sure there isn't any questionable issues that would make us question your eligibility for UPE Initiation. (I.E. Academic dishonesty. This process has uncovered UPE candidates with questionable ethics in the past.)
- Read and agree to abide by the UPE Constitution (link is provided above).
- Bring a check for $50 made out to "University of Michigan-Dearborn", and have a memo of "UPE Membership Fee", so that we can send your $50 to UPE national for new member registration.
- If for some reason you don't use checks, you can provide a money order instead. But, the check serves as a failsafe to prove that you paid once it is cashed. UPE no longer accepts cash for proof of receipt and potential loss reasons.)
- We do not accept PayPal, or Credit Cards.
- Attend the UPE Initiation Ceremony.
- At a later date when they arrive, you can pickup your personalized UPE membership certificate, UPE Carat-clad Keypin, a UPE membership number, and 1 free year of ACM Student Membership.
